Spot the Watch: Ben Affleck, Hollywood Actor and Director featuring Breguet in Batman vs Superman!

This week at the home of the original Spot the Watch, we are featuring Hollywood actor Ben Affleck.   As many of you would know he is starring as Bruce Wayne in the new Batman vs Superman movie.  We have not seen the movie but we spotted a picture from the images released which caught our eye.  We will show you this at the end.

When Ben Affleck starred in the movie Argo, eagle eyed WIS spotted that he was wearing a modern day Rolex Deepsea Sea Dweller for a movie that was supposed to be set in the late 1970’s.   Obviously the Deepsea was not made in the 1970s.  While doing research for this article we came across a picture that was taken on the set of Argo.  Ben Affleck is wearing what appears to be a Rolex Submariner, that is a lot older than a modern one.  In another photo from the film, the modern Deepsea Sea Dweller is on his wrist.  So it turns out he wore an older Submariner and a modern Deepsea Sea Dweller.  It seems the older model got swapped out at some point during filming for the newer one.

Update: 14/07/16:  Langematik Perpetual Calendar not Datograph Perpetual

The next watch spotted on his wrist is modern piece from one of our favourite German manufacturers, A. Lange & Söhne.  The model on his wrist can take into account the date, days of the week, the month and leap year.  It is the Langematik Perpetual Calendar in Platinum. We originally though it was a Datograph Perpetual Calendar.  Still very cool nonetheless.

Watches in Batman vs Superman

As the Batman vs Superman movie has just been released, we are just working off the shots that have been published before the films release.   The picture is of Bruce Wayne (Affleck) at a computer terminal in what looks like the Batcave.  It took us a while to find a clearer image but we did.  What  piqued our interest was the offset white dial of the watch and the overall design of the watch.  The name that immediately came to mind was Breguet and its Tradition Tourbillon.

Update: 19th April:  Confirmed by Breguet themselves to be a Tradition Tourbillon which was first spotted by Deployant!

It is a Breguet Tradition Fusee Tourbillon.   Interesting choice of timepiece for the caped crusader considering the Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso was the watch chosen for Bruce Wayne to reflect his two identities  for the Dark Knight trilogy directed by Christopher Nolan.
