Phillips Watches  just released information on another watch for the Only Watch auction that made us do a double take at the information.   Patek Philippe have put up some stunning watches previously in Only Watch auctions and again they have produced a piece from the top drawer.  Introducing the Only Watch 2015: Patek Philippe 5016A-010 Grand Complication.

The stunning piece unique Patek Philippe 5016A-010

The original reference 5016 was made between 1993 and 2011.

The Reference 5016A-010 is a grand complication with all the bells and whistles, just like its predecessors.  A perpetual calendar with retrograde date, moonphase, tourbillon and a minute repeater.  The dial of the watch is enamel and is a stunning shade of blue. It also has applied gold Breguet numerals.

We will give you a moment to wipe the drool from your keyboard/mobile phone/tablet.

The case is 36.8mm and many would say this is the perfect size.  We would agree with them.  Now you may have noticed the letter of the reference was an A.  A is for Acciaio. This stands for stainless steel.   No 5016 has ever been made in Stainless Steel before!

The movement of the watch will be exquisitely finished just like the movement of a Ref 5016 in yellow gold we photographed last year.

So to sum up, the watch on offer is a stainless steel 36.8 millimeter cased perpetual calendar with retrograde date, tourbillon, moonphase and a minute repeater.  With a stunning blue enamel dial and a piece unique!

To give you a guide as to the potential of the final hammer price, in the 2011 Only Watch Auction a Ref 3939HA-010 Minute Repeater and Tourbillon in stainless steel piece unique sold for $1,400,000 Euros.  In the Only Watch Auction held two years later, a Ref  5004T-001 Split Second Perpetual Calendar  in Titanium piece unique sold for $2,950,000 Euros.

Expect the Ref 5016A-010 in November to eclipse both previous hammer prices by a long margin.

A fantastic watch that will contribute a great deal of money to the Muscular Distrophy fund.
