Only Watch 2015: Breguet Type XXI 3813

Not long ago, we did a review on the Breguet Type XX Aeronavale and we thought it was a rather enchanting timepiece. For this year’s Only Watch, Breguet has decided to create a piece unique for the Type XXI. If you felt that the Type XX Aeronavale was gorgeous, then perhaps you might be even more interested in their latest creation for this charity drive.

The Breguet Type XXI 3813, a piece unique for this year's Only Watch.

The Type XXI is basically an upgraded version of the Type XX that we have reviewed previously. It includes several other complications, such as the date display and the day and night indicator. On top of that, it also features an elapsed minute register via a center hand.

Unlike the usual Type XXI, this one is a little different in terms of appearance. Firstly, the beautifully designed case is made from platinum, and this is the first time that they have done this for the Type XXI. It is contrasted with an alluring matte slate grey dial, and it is finished with indices that are coated with “patinated” SuperLuminova.

Furthermore, the watch is paired with an aged calfskin leather strap, and this gives the watch a strong character. It looks as though it is a vintage watch that had aged gracefully with the passage of time. It is simply gorgeous.

This watch, like the other pieces from Only Watch 2015, is up for auction on the 7th of November this year. On top of the stunning timepiece, the winning bidder will also receive an exclusive presentation box, as well as a “unique piece” certification.
