The Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie, organizers for the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) announced that the next SIHH 2018 will be taking place January 15th to 19th 2018.

The show will be extended to bring the arrival of Hermès, who have been exhibiting in Baselworld till this year. And additional space for the independents, known as the Carré des Horlogers. The space will be expanded to include DeWitt, Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud and Romain Gauthier. It is interesting that Berthoud will be exhibiting in Geneva next year, even as parent Chopard will continue to be one of the anchors at Baselworld.

The first SIHH was in 1991 with only 5 brands exhibiting. Baume & Mercier, Cartier, Piaget, Gerald Genta and Daniel Roth were the pioneering brands who moved from Baselworld 1990. The first SIHH covered only 4,500 square meters of floor space in PalExpo over 5 days. In 2017. this grew to 45,000 square meters with 30 exhibitors.

This brings the total of exhibitors to 34, with 18 Historic Maisons and 16 independents.

“There is no intention of extending SIHH indefinitely. It will grow within carefully measured limits so as to preserve the values of excellence that have forged its reputation. It must also meet the expectations of its exhibitors and clients, both now and in the future,”

SIHH Managing Director, Fabienne Lupo.
