Swatch has released 5 new coloured versions of the Sistem 51.  For readers who are not familiar with the Sistem 51, it is the first self winding wristwatch completely put together by a machine and with a power reserve of 90 hours and using only 51 parts hence the name Sistem 51.

The new versions come in 5 different colours, some bolder than others.

The first is the Sistem Pink with a pink case and rubber strap.  The dial looks like a neutron with its pink lines and blue background. The date and seconds hand are yellow and the hour and minute hands are white  The bezel is blue with 12 white dots marked every 5 minutes.  On the reverse side the movement features a blue and pink honeycomb pattern.

The next model is the Sistem Green.  This model is less “loud” then the Pink.   The case and dial are of a green shade.  The dial is a sunburst green which gives off different hues.  The date, hour and minutes are accented in orange.  On the reverse slide is a bright orange and green pattern which looks like a dart board.

The Sistem Chic is definitely more classical looking.  With a black strap, case and bezel, it doesn’t draw attention.  The dial of the watch is white, with Arabic numerals in black.  It differs from the other Sistem 51’s with the date in red located at the 6’clock position.

The Sistem Class has the same colour case and strap combination as the first generation blue Sistem 51 ( For a collectors view on the original Sistem 51 colours please click here.)  The Class has been given a more legible dial with white Arabic numerals allowing for easier reading of the time.

The decoration for the back of the watch is the same also as the first generation with a blue and black stripey pattern.

Lastly we have the Sistem Cream.  The case and strap are of a cream colour.  The dial and bezel are black in colour and give the watch a racing car vibe.    It reminds us of a race car dial with the red second hand and the font of the Arabic numerals.

The back is very different to the front of the watch.  It features a black and white polka dot pattern

  1. Why did you not come out with a watch you can read in first edition ??????????

  2. Thanks Nick. I like the Class, but since I already have the first-gen blue, it makes no sense for me. I think I will go for the Cream, my favorite of all 5 dials. When will these be available in Singapore?

  3. Thanks for this review. I already have the First generation Blue which I adore. From this second gen, I like the Chic and the Cream. Which in your opinion is the better one? I really love the Sistem 51.

    • Hi Kunal

Glad you liked the review. I think it comes down to personal preference for the new models. I quite like the Class and the Cream models.
