At SIHH 2018, Bulgari unveils two watches from the OCTO collection in a chronograph flavoured edition. The Bulgari Octo L’Originale Chronographe and his darker counterpart, the Bulgari Octo Chronographe Ultranero, come as an expected evolution in the legendary collection. We reviewed last year the thin Bulgari Octo Finissimo Automatique and the magical Bulgari Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Squelette and we are happy to announce the new chronographs of the Octo family.
Bulgari Octo L’Originale Chronographe
Octo L’Originale Chronographe comes with a 41mm diameter sandblasted titanium case, faithful following the lines of the Octo Collection. The dial features a three registers classic chrono layout with a subtle date at 4:30 o’clock.
Bulgari Octo L’Originale Chronographe is powered by the calibre BVL 328 Velocissimo. The movement is decorated, as expected, with nicely executed haute horlogerie finishes: chamfering, snailing and Côtes de Genève motif. The 5Hz column wheel chronograph movement has a 50-hour power reserve.
Bulgari Octo L’Originale Chronographe has a tachymeter scale engraved on the bezel. The chrono-pushers are well integrated into the design, acting as a protection for the Octo crown.
Bulgari Octo Chronographe Ultranero
Octo Chronographe Ultranero features a 41m black DLC stainless steel case. the construction is the same as the Octo L’Originale Chronographe. The dial, as the case, is alike darkened, keeping the same layout.
Bulgari Octo Chronographe Ultranero is powered by the same calibre BVL 328 Velocissimo. The movements decorations are highlighted by the black DLC case.
The dial is completely dark. Even the dauphine hands are black. Despite the overall dark theme, the legibility seems to be excellent. It contributes the three-dimensional appearance of the applied indexes versus printed numeral and indexes. The different shades of grey have also a highlighting effect.

Titanium or steel DLC case, 41mm in diameter, titanium or steel crown and transparent caseback, grey or black dial with applied hour-markers.
Strap
Leather and rubber strap with folding clasp in DLC-coated (Diamond Like Carbon) steel or in rubber for the black DLC version; water-resistant to 100m.
