The MB&F Legacy Machines have expanded over the years from the initial series of LM1 to LM2 and the new-ish entry level LM101. When the LM2 was launched in 2013, the watch was presented in red and white gold versions. And now a platinum version joins the collection.
The new MB&F LM1 Platinum: stunning electric blue dial provides a backdrop for the two subdials showing independent timezones, the suspended balance and the vertical power reserve indicator.
The striking blue dial on the new LM1 Platinum is first seen in the special limited edition LM2 Platinum of only 18 pieces. We hear that only 1 piece remain from the LM2 Platinum. The electric blue continues to live on in the new LM1 Platinum. Limited to 33 pieces, the blue face is a backdrop to the signature flying balance wheel, fully independent dual timezones in their own white, lacquered subdials, and the vertical power reserve indicator.
The LM1 Platinum, still sports the movement jointly created by Jean-François Mojon and Kari Voutilainen.
So yea or nay? One veteran MB&F collector Gavin Foo has this to say, “The new color match up of the LM1 platinum lends a completely different character to the Legacy Machine -something a lot more technical and intellectual with the contrasts adding sophistry to what was originally a highly romantic watch (in rose gold). Warm romanticism or technical sophistry? Collectors now have the best of both worlds.”
