Geneva 2015: Hublot Classic Fusion Aeromoon

The Hublot Classic Fusion Aeromoon is a skeleton watch featuring contemporary architecture and a full calendar displaying the moon phases, as well as simple date and day and month indications. The module was two years in development.

Commanding a central position, the moon phases serve as a reminder that, long before time was measured in hours, minutes and seconds, the moon was used to track the passage of time. Hublot has revisited this complication, dressing it in lunar greys for a modern, stylish twist. The lunar cycle is reproduced in a 13 mm diameter round window at 6 o’clock. The two moons appear in turn thanks to its partially frosted glass. This disc performs one revolution (every 29.5 days) over two lunar months and is driven by a 59-tooth wheel which advances one tooth every 24 hours.

The Titanium version of the Aeromoon

Commanding a central position, the moon phases serve as a reminder that, long before time was measured in hours, minutes and seconds, the moon was used to track the passage of time. Hublot has revisited this complication, dressing it in lunar greys for a modern, stylish twist. The lunar cycle is reproduced in a 13 mm diameter round window at 6 o’clock. The two moons appear in turn thanks to its partially frosted glass. This disc performs one revolution (every 29.5 days) over two lunar months and is driven by a 59-tooth wheel which advances one tooth every 24 hours.

The opening produces a beautiful impression of depth, revealing two convex spherical moons. Around the edge of the moon display, a simple date with semi-instantaneous display. Offering optimal readability, the day and month indications have been placed at 12 o’clock in two large skeleton windows. The sapphire dial reveals the mechanical beauty of the piece. The date, day and month discs are skeletonized. The black, grey and anthracite tones further emphasise the mechanism’s impression of depth.

18k King Gold version of the Aeromoon

With a diameter of 45 mm, two versions are available: one in King Gold (Hublot’s famous red gold, more intense and precious thanks to its 5% platinum content) and the other in titanium. 4 integrated correctors sit either side of the case (2 o’clock: month correction, 4 o’clock: moon correction, 8 o’clock: date correction, 10 o’clock: day correction), with the time set using the crown. The piece is finished with a black strap in alligator leather sewn onto rubber.
