Deployant quadruples growth, hires veteran Jonathan Ho as Executive Editor

Deployant – Asia’s leading online magazine and community for high horology and lifestyles – today announced the appointment of Jonathan Ho to its management team as its Executive Editor, reporting to the owners of the group. Jonathan joins a team of of 8 editorial and commercial staff at Deployant.

Jonathan will carry dual portfolios in both the editorial and commercial aspects of the business, and is charged with helping further accelerate Deployant’s rapid growth across the Asia-Pacific region.

“Having covered watches for Singapore’s watch journals for many years, it’s an honour to join the team at Asia’s premier watch periodical Deployant as its Executive Editor,” said Jonathan. “Never before has any online title from our shores been able to reach such an extensive international and regional audience. To further develop and grow the publication will be immensely rewarding.”

Launched in mid 2014, Deployant has today an audited readership of just under half a million monthly, and is on track towards 10 million for 2016 at current growth rates. This represents a year-on-year growth of four-and-a-half times from the year before.

Jonathan boasts almost a decade of editorial and communications experience, and was most recently Group Editor at luxury publisher Revolution Press, as well as Managing Editor of luxury tabloid The Millenary Post. Jonathan was also Associate Editor at fashion magazine August Man, and held roles at MediaCorp and TBWA.

We are glad to have Jonathan on-board as we change into high-gear for the next chapter of the Deployant growth story. Jonathan will add new perspectives and added capacity to Deployant’s editorial efforts, as well as innovate fresh product offerings for the commercial side of the business. Deployant was created for collectors, by collectors – and this philosophy of benefitting the community will continue to permeate everything we do.
