Watchscapes: Jaeger LeCoultre Duomètre Sphérotourbillon pocket watch

We photographed this beauty at the Manufacture Jaeger LeCoultre in Le Sentier last year before BaselWorld 2014, but somehow this gem slipped through our radar against the hundreds of thousands of photographs we took since. We find reason to show this magnificent piece, as the last piece (out of a total of 3) recently arrived in Singapore and is being offered for sale at the JLC Boutique.

Jaeger LeCoultre Duomètre Sphérotourbillon pocket watch

We covered the Jaeger LeCoultre Duomètre Sphérotourbillon wrist watch earlier. Please click here, here and here to read the details. For today’s article, we focus on the pocket watch version. This is a very special version, and was announced as part of the Hybris Artistica series, where additional virtuoso artisanal handwork is being shown.

All the traditional finnisage points are addressed with aplomb. Note the frosted sapphire glass bridge for the bottom of the tourbillon carriage. Note also the very traditional and beautifully designed and executed complicated click mechanisms on both the barrels.

As with the other Sphérotourbillon, the tourbillon is equipped with a cylindrical balance with double terminal curves, and is inclined at 20°.
