Spot the Watch: Frank Lampard, Soccer Player

For this weeks Spot the Watch, we are featuring former Chelsea FC star and current player for New York City FC, Frank Lampard.  He actually has very good taste when it comes to timepieces.  His cousin Jamie Redknapp a former player for Liverpool and now a football pundit is also an avid collector and we will feature him another time.

Now a Spot the Watch would not be complete without a Rolex.  We will start of with a Rolex Daytona in yellow gold.  From what we can tell from the photo it is a Daytona with a modified Zenith El Primero.  These Zenith based movement Daytonas are becoming quite collectible.

The next brand featured is Richard Mille.  The model in question the Richard Mille RM011 DLC Titanium “Americas White”.  This was a 30 piece limited edition for Canada and the United States.  It features a flyback chronograph and annual calendar.  It is distinguishable by its white inner flange and white crown grip, contrasted against the DLC coated titanium case.  From other photos we have seen Frank Lampard owns at least a couple more RMs.

We have caught our attention was Frank Lampard’s love of Patek Philippe.

A watch that seems to be every so popular is the iconic Nautilus.  Frank Lampard owns many variations of the Nautilus including the 5980 chronograph.  We will feature a couple of models today.

The final 3 models from Patek Philippe are chronographs.

The first model is the Reference 5170.  It is a manually wound two register chronograph, which has become a signature of Patek Philippe.  Frank Lampard wore his yellow gold model with roman numerals to be awarded an OBE for services to Football.  It was presented to him by Prince William. He is pictured below with the watch and his medal.

The next chronograph featured was released recently for the 175th anniversary of Patek Philippe.  It is the reference 5975 in platinum.  It is a self winding chronograph and features a multi scale dlal, featuring a pulsometer, tachymeter and telemeter.  The pulsometer is used for measuring a persons pulse rate,  the tachymeter is used for measuring the time over a distance and the telemeter is used to measure the distance based on first the visual sighting followed by the acoustic noise.  It also happens to be a limited edition of 100 pieces.

The final watch featured is one special timepiece. It is the reference 5204.  It is a perpetual calendar with moonphase and a Splits Seconds chronograph aka a Double Chronograph or Rattrapante.  This is one greatly constructed timepiece and one for the true connoisseur.  Frank Lampard is pictured below wearing the watch while accepting an award with fellow recipient Steven Gerrard.
