Thomas Mercer has donated the very first “Brittanica”, an all new, exclusive table chronometer made in collaboration with British furniture designer Jake Phipps. A precision timekeeper with chronometer escapement – the spring detent, the manually wound movement incorporates an elaborate fusee and chain system providing 8 days of power reserve. Made of stainless steel with fine leather and extra-white crystals, the case measures 183mm x 150mm x 90mm.

It features a unique dial with celestial map of the constellations, from the point of view of Geneva with the stars aligned for the exact date of the Only Watch 2015 auction – 7 November 2015. The dial’s outer ring is galvanically treated with ruthenium, while the inner constellations map is in bas-relief, with hand-painted blue decorations.
