On February 18, 1815 Ferdinand Adolph Lange was born. In 1845 he set up the watch company A. Lange & Söhne. Today marks his 200th Birthday.

To celebrate the occasion A. Lange & Söhne has produced a limited edition timepiece. The 1815 “200th Anniversary F. A. Lange”. Only 200 pieces will be made.

The watch has a 40 millimetre case which is made from platinum. The dial made from solid silver is black in colour and features subsidiary seconds at the 6 o’clock position. It also features Arabic numerals and railway-track minute scale. This look is based on the pocket watches that were made by F.A. Lange.
Viewable through the clear sapphire case back is the L051.1 movement. The three quarter plate is made of untreated German silver, and signature elements include the hand-engraved balance cock, the classic screw balance, the whiplash spring, the gold chatons that secure the bearing jewels, and the thermally blued screws. A beautiful looking movement that is hand finished.

On the back of the case, the serial number is engraved from 001/200 to 200/200 to identify each watch.
