IWC is participating in the 6th edition of the Only Watch Charity Auction.  They have donated a special timepiece to be auctioned off.  Introducing the IWC Ingenieur Automatic Edition “Tribute to Nico Rosberg” for Only Watch 2015.

The watch is named after Mercedes F1 driver Nico Rosberg.

The Reference IW324603 has a 46 mm case made from solid boron carbide.  IWC is the first company to make a watch case from boron carbide.  It is second only to diamond in terms of hardness.

This is the second time IWC have utilised the material.  The first time was for the 25 piece limited edition IWC Ingenieur Automatic Edition AMG GT.  The IWC Ingenieur Automatic Edition “Tribute to Nico Rosberg”  is a piece unique.

Powering the watch is the IWC caliber 80110 mechanical movement with Pellaton automatic winding system, fitted with a rotor designed in the form of engine pistons.  Enabling high-performance usage, the watch integrates a shock-absorption system with one of IWC’s most robust movements.

The  watch comes on a rubber strap with Dinamica inlay accented and green quilted stitching, The inlay is the same innovative microfibre used in the interior of the Mercedes Benz AMG GT.

This watch will be sold during the Only Watch charity auction, taking place in Geneva on 7 November 2015.  All funds raised will benefit research for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
