Highlights of Horological Events of the Fortnight ending August 9, 2015

A relatively quiet fortnight, with one Collector event, and one Boutique cocktail by Lange.

Collector Dinner by Deployant Friend July 29

One of our Deployant Friends collected three significant watches and held a small private dinner to celebrate his acquisition. Two of the pieces were significant horologically important: the Greubel Forsey Invention Piece 3 and the Patek Philippe 5101. And the third is the first delivery of an independent watchmaker for a piece unique: The Bexei Dignitas Pure (full review coming soon) where Aaron Becsei personally delivered the watch.

Lange Cocktails at the Lange Boutique July 31

Lange held a special session to showcase the history of their three quarter plate movement, tracing the origins from traditional English watchmaking to their current offerings. The interesting presentation was made by the Head of the Lange Akademie, Joanna Lange.

Scottish Speyside single malts were available for tasting as well as the usual champagnes and canapé.

Cocktails at the Lange Boutique where the guests were treated to Scottish Single Malts, Champagne, canapé, and gorgeous Lange watches. A short lecture session led by Joanna Lange on the development of the three quarter plate was also presented.
