Last BaselWorld, Sarpaneva released the K0 Northern Lights which proved to extremely popular, and sold out almost instantly. Sarpaneva now announces a simpler version, with four models representing the Seasons – Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, in four colors, and still working in collaboration with Black Badger: Introducing the Sarpaneva K0 Seasons. We managed to photograph and have a quick hands-on with Summer.

Stepan Sarpaneva is from Finland, and he says, “Finland is a country of brutal honesty. When we say we have four seasons, it means we have four seasons.” In Spring, Mother Nature slowly awakes, in Summer she doesn’t sleep at all, staying up 24 hours a day. In Autumn, she explodes in colour, and in Winter she totally freezes over.  The watches are inspired by these distinct seasons, and shows these in vivid colors, and marks the second collaboration between Sarpaneva Watches and Black Badger Advanced Composites.

We photograph the Summer…when it took a tour of our small island which is perpetually in Summer.

The design features subtle changes. The moonphase is now deleted, and the dial, though retaining the design language speaks of a different subject. The design of the web on the dial has changed somewhat, and the K0 Seasons now sport a differently styled hands, now without SuperLuminova.

How is the lume, you ask? Well, in a word, still brilliant (pun intended).

Price is now  €10,000, before any taxes, while the Sarpaneva K0 Northern Lights were €14,500. Interestingly the price is the same for all the versions, although, we were told, some versions cost more to manufacture than others…but we are not telling which ones…
